A dredging technology company in pre-launch

Better tools for the people who work the water.

Spice Miners plans to invest in modern technology for small and mid-scale dredging: electric pump retrofits, smarter motor controls, and monitoring that turns field data into better operating decisions. Our starting point is upgrading the equipment operators already use.

Our mission

Make dredging cleaner, simpler, and more dependable.

We want to give operators better equipment, better information, and more control over how their work gets done.

Why Spice Miners exists

Good engineering should hold up in the field.

Dredging is hard work. Fuel is expensive to move. Parts are difficult to source. A small failure can stop an entire operation. We are building around those facts.

  1. 01

    Start with the operator

The people running and repairing the equipment know where time, fuel, and effort are lost. Their experience comes first.

  2. 02

    Keep it practical

Useful technology should be straightforward to install, understand, maintain, and repair.

  3. 03

    Use energy wisely

We are exploring better ways to power dredge pumps and reduce dependence on diesel without losing the reliability the work demands.

  4. 04

    Build for the long run

We care about durable businesses, responsible operations, and equipment that creates value well beyond its first season.

Our technology investment plan

Modernize the pump. Improve the whole system.

We plan to focus investment on engineering, prototype development, and operator-led field trials. The first direction is a modular electric retrofit for existing diesel-driven dredge pumps, using shore power where practical and evaluating battery buffers or hybrid power where the site calls for them.

  • Electric drives and variable-speed controls. Match pump speed to the work and test energy use against the existing diesel setup.
  • Sensors and operating records. Measure pressure, flow, power use, runtime, and stoppages so operators can see performance and maintenance needs.
  • Modular retrofit hardware. Develop serviceable motor mounts, drive interfaces, and control enclosures with replaceable parts and local installation partners.
  • Measured field pilots. Compare energy per cubic metre, output, uptime, maintenance cost, and installed payback before expanding to larger systems.

Our product philosophy

FIELD FIRST
PumpPowerControlsService

Our planned business model combines retrofit packages, partner-supported installation and service, and licensing of repeatable controls and operating methods. We are in pre-launch; the designs and field performance still need validation.

The opportunity

Small improvements can change the whole day.

A better dredging system is not only about the pump. It can mean fewer fuel runs, less downtime, easier maintenance, and a clearer picture of how the operation is performing.

Use less

PowerPut more of the energy into moving material.

Lose less

TimeDesign around maintenance, parts, and real working conditions.

Know more

ClarityGive operators useful information without adding complexity.

Pre-launch

We are doing the groundwork now.

Spice Miners is not selling equipment yet. We are learning from operators, developing the first concepts, and building the relationships needed to turn the idea into a working product.

Now

Listen

Establish operator needs and a baseline for fuel, output, and downtime.

Now

Design

Specify the motor, drive, sensors, power supply, and retrofit interfaces.

Next

Prototype

Build and bench-test a small-scale retrofit with engineering partners.

Then

Pilot

Measure performance and operator economics under real working conditions.

Ahead

Launch

Offer validated retrofit packages and support, then evaluate larger pump systems.

About the company
